While on tour in 2014, performing in the multiplatinum grammy nominated international act Alien Ant Farm, Michael Anaya wrote and recorded a handful of demos on his spare time that he saved in a folder on his desktop named ‘MAAJR’ (His initials Michael Anthony Anaya, Jr.).
Upon his return home in January 2015, he revisited those demos and birthed his solo project MAAJR. One of his first performances as MAAJR was a Goldenvoice event at Los Angeles’ historic music venue, The Roxy. After a few shows as a solo act, he added Oklahoma City drummer extraordinaire Joshuah Lutes to the line up. MAAJR then continued to play an impressive list of shows and capture audiences with their raw energy and stage presence for the remainder of 2015.
